Querse produces handmade oak and acacia wine barrels from 5lt to 2000 lt according the specifications of the wine maker about the height or thickness of the stave.
Toasting of the barrel is done according the variety of the grape and finally the opinion of the oenologist and the wine maker.
The oak that we use is from Bulgarian forests and its scientific name is Quercus Sesiliflora. The logs are mainly cut from November to January .
Its log is then elaborated into staves which are placed outside for drying.
The natural drying process lasts from 18 to 36 months during which the staves will be replaced 2 to 3 times in order to achieve the same ''washing-drying'' conditions for each individual stave.
