Take care of the fire. In Strladzha region a legend is told that smithing appeared first from the crafts and it is a God's gift to people. God gave people the fire and only to the strongest the skill to strike iron. Years ago in that region there was no settlement, in which no smith lived and worked. He made and repaired all tools of iron, necessary for farming and other crafts, for house building, the various objects used in private homes utensils for the fireplace, candlesticks, padlocks etc. People belived in the magical power, which is hidden in the smithing craft and all which has passed trought forging fire and hammer. Therefore by tradition on weddings a special invitation is extended to smith's family, who presented the newsly-married couple with utensils for the fireplace trivet, iron logholders, chain and tongs and in return they received handsome gifts.
