Prophylaxis Why should we deparasitize our pets against external parasites? Definition "External parasites" includes mainly fleas, ticks and mosquitoes. The ticks for example feed their selves with blood after affixing to the skin of the pet. This way, during the blood sucking through their saliva they could carry diseases from their previous acceptant. The most frequently diseases transmitted through external parasites are: bebesiosis, Lime disease (borreliosis), anaplasmosis, erlihioza, etc. Some of these diseases are zoonosis, which means that if a tick, that has been infected by some of these illnesses, affixes to the human's skin, it will transfer the disease. This means that the external deparasitizing of pets is important both for the health of pets and their owners. Consequences of these diseases could be fatal, no matter in which moment after the infection the adequate medical treatment has been started. During the visit in our clinic you will be informed in details on the types of external deparasitizing (with a spot-on form or with an anti-parasites leash) as well as on their duration of activity. Do not remove ticks from your pets in domestic conditions. Surgery Renovated veterinary clinic "VET M&M" has at its disposal specialists in the field of surgery and anesthesiology. During each operative intervention a team of surgeons and an anesthetist take part in it and care for the safety of the patient. During the operation the following vital indicators are monitored: pulse, temperature, saturation, blood pressure and ECG. Veterinary surgeons use intravenous and inhalation anesthesiology depending on the individual patient's needs. After the end of the operative intervention, a specialist takes care for the animal continuously until it entirely is out of anaesthesia risk. The clinic provides a wide range of surgery interventions. We perform corrective and reconstructive operations in the field of eyes, ears, etc., abdomen, thorax and orthopedic operations, removal of formations as well as many other surgery procedures which are performed after a medical examination and consultation with a surgeon. Cardiology Electrocardiography (ECG) -– this is one of the most popular methods for function heart diagnostics. This method is informative enough, as well as easy and safety for the patient. ECG examination is a specialized survey of the work of the heart, it helps for finding arrhythmias, for estimation of the condition of the cardiac muscle / hypertrophy, ischemia of the cardiac muscle, finding of hidden pathologies/. It should be known that the examination method ECG is not the only one for finding cardiovascular insufficiency. We recommend ECG examination to be performed at least once a year for patients older than 5 years. In case of symptoms of cardiovascular insufficiency /constriction, fast fatigability, cough, tumefaction, etc./ ECG examination is obligatory! Parasitology The problem with the gastrointestinal parasites is often for all kinds of animals. Without medical treatment this could lead to loose of weight, anemia, diarrhea, and sometimes to narrowing and even occlusion of the intestinal lumen. The intestinal parasitescould infect also the people through swallowing their eggs, and the symptoms are similar to those of the animals – diarrhea, vomiting, gastrointestinal aches, injury of many other internal organs, etc. The most vulnerable are children, who playing with infected soil swallow the eggs of the parasites. Fortunately, there are lots of different medicines for curing and prophylaxis of animals. Stomatology Based on the fact that dogs and cats do not consume sugar products as people do, the formation of cavities in their mouths is in lower percent. The main problem of our patients is the tartar. The prophylaxis of this problem is very important and should be represented by maintenance of oral hygiene by cleaning the teeth with a tooth brush and paste. It is recommendable to begin in early age so that the pet could accept it as a game. Cleaning the teeth regularly (for example 2-3 times a week) drastically slows up formation of dental plaque and tartar. Their removal in pets could be performed under full anesthesiology of the patient, which is always risky for its life. The tartar is the reason for the gradual come off of the gum and denuding of the tooth – paradontosis. This process ends with falling of the tooth and discomfort when chewing hard foods.
