Solvay Sodi and affiliates produce soda ash - light and heavy, sodium bicarbonate, electricity, steam, demineralised water, ash and salt. Heavy soda ash is obtained based on light. Demand determines the ratio of production and sales of heavy and light soda ash.
Solvay Sodi sales soda ash;light and heavy, and baking soda. About 90% of the soda ash produced is exported. Balkan countries, Russia, Middle East and Mediterranean basin are the main destinations, but in practice the soda ash is exported throughout the world - South America, Africa and Asia. Solvay Sodi accounts for 1% of the total exports of Bulgaria.
